The full committee of TAG's members meets at least quarterly to discuss and reach a consensus viewpoint to put to Government, Ofcom, broadcasters, telecoms companies, local authorities and other relevant parties.
Subgroups and officers meet more frequently to discuss specific issues and campaigns, often with government, politicians, regulators, and industry representatives.
TAG's remit is primarily the UK, but it also involves itself on the European front where telecoms and broadcasting decisions and developments can be of great significance. TAG also promotes the international compatibility of telephone services for deaf people.
TAG's advice is often sought by service providers, equipment manufacturers and other organisations. TAG welcomes and encourages these approaches.
TAG is represented on the United Kingdom Council on Deafness and on PhoneAbility, the Consumer Expert Group of the UK Department of Culture Media and Sport, and the Ofcom Consumer Forum on Communications.
